John T. O’Heren, age 89, of Palmyra, Missouri, formerly of Quincy, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in the Monroe Manor Cottages in Paris, Missouri. He was born on April 14, 1930 in Decatur, IL the son of William Harry and Beulah (Nowlin) O’Heren. John was a graduate of St. Francis Grade School in Quincy, St. Joseph Minor Seminary in Westmont, IL and Marquette University. John worked as a registered nurse for the United States Army and for various VA Hospitals for 32 years.

John served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Palmyra, Missouri, the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree, the Secular Franciscan Order and enjoyed attending the Quincy Cursillo. He participated in the Central Missouri Honor Flight in May of 2017.

John is survived by:
TWO SISTERS: Rosemary Westfallen and Patricia O’Connor.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives survive.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charles Henry O’Heren and 2 sisters, Helen O’Heren & Joan R. Carlyle.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery with military rites conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Central Missouri Honor Flight. Arrangements are in the care of the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
