John P. Stoner

John P. Stoner, age 34, of 2851 Elm St., died on Saturday, March 27, 2010 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on April 18, 1975 in Quincy the son of Harlan and Ruth (Parn) Stoner. He married Jennifer Sullivan on April 25, 2009 in St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy. She survives.

John was a 1993 graduate of Central High School and was employed by Kohl Wholesale.

John enjoyed boating, hunting, & sports. John was a loving dad. He was actively involved with his boys in their sports, especially soccer, basketball and football. John was also an avid Cowboys and Cardinal Fan.

In addition to his wife, Jennifer, John is also survived by:
TWO SONS: Nathan Stoner and Declan Stoner
HIS MOTHER: Ruth Duvall and her husband Dale of Quincy and
HIS FATHER: Harlan Stoner and his wife Marcia of Decatur, IL
HIS PATERNAL GRANDMOTHER: Wilma Nicloy of Quincy
ONE SISTER: Michelle Hofacker and her husband Jason of Anchorage, AK
STEP-SISTERS: Jennifer Severino and her husband Michael and Jessica Fenton and her husband Jim along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends also survive.

John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Bill & Edna Parn and Paternal Grandfather: Delbert Stoner.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Nations Cemetery near Liberty. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to an Educational Fund for his children.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. My fondest memories are of little John hiding under the church pew as Becky Kitchen and I chased and tormented him. His smile was contageous. May the happy memories you have comfort your hearts.

    To John’s family,

    I wanted to write and let you know that I was saddened to hear of John’s death. My thoughts and prayers are with you (his family) at this difficult time. I remember working with John and Michele at Camp Manitoumi and all the fun we use to have. Lots of memories! John was a kind, compassionate young man and I know that he will be missed by all.
