John M. Smith, age 71, of Quincy died on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 in his home. John was born in Quincy on August 23, 1952, a son of Ashford and Lorine (Bentley) Smith.

John was previously employed through the residential home that he lived in and a community program that had him working in housekeeping. He was of the Christian faith.
John had a good sense of humor, and he never complained through the challenges he experienced.

He loved watching old television shows like MASH, Hogan’s Heroes and Adam 12. John Wayne movies were his favorite. John loved eating popcorn and watching wrestling on t.v.

Survivors include his brother Grover Smith and his wife Debbie of Quincy; nieces and nephews also survive.

John was preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings.

Cremation rites will be accorded. No formal services are planned.
Cremation arrangements are in care of Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
