Johnny “John” Lee Taylor Obituary

Johnny “John” Lee Taylor age 61, of 1819 Hampshire Street Quincy, formerly of Santa Clarita, CA died on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 7:45 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. He was born May 11, 1951 in Quincy, a son of William & Betty (Arnold) Taylor.

John spent the some of the happiest 30yrs of his life living in California. He worked at Air Frame Manufacturing and Supply Company in Quality Control for many of these years along side his dear friend, Henrietta Babb. John was also a care giver for friends and people in need of home care. He returned to Quincy in 2004 to be near his family. John worked at Black and Company in the delivery, shipping and receiving department.

John was a 1969 graduate of Quincy High School.

He loved gardening and reading, he enjoyed listening to music and having a good glass of wine. His family, friends and beloved dogs Buddy and Gracie, were truly his favorite things in life. John was the best son, brother, uncle and friend anyone could ask for. He was always doing things for others, and he had a way of humoring us with his funny quips and sayings.
John was loving, supportive, polite and a true gentleman. He ended every phone conversation with a “Thank you for calling,” and you always knew that he was grateful for the time he had spent with you.

In addition to his parents, William and Betty Taylor of Quincy; survivors also include a brother, Steve Taylor and his wife Donna of Burton, IL and a sister, Diane Beaston and her husband Frank of Quincy; Nephews, Trenton (Kimberly) Beaston, Bryce (Jessica) Beaston and Spencer Beaston, Chad Davis, Jason(Sarah) Davis and Brandon (Tasha)Davis. Great nieces and nephews, Gage, Gabby, Dawson, Hunter, Avery, Alexa and MaKayla.
His dogs, Buddy and Gracie also survive

John was preceded in death by his partner, Rick Clasen; his grandparents, John & Gertrude Taylor and Edward & Marie Arnold. His best friend Kelvie King also preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by the Chaplain Steve Disseler. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of services at the funeral home.     Johnny Lee was a very special person to Richard. I know since the Taylor reunion he has enjoyed and cherished the time spent keeping in contact with him. I know Richard loved him very much. We will miss him.
