John H. Winter

John H. Winter, age 63, of Quincy, died on Sunday, August 19, 2018 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on February 5, 1955 in Jeannette, PA the son of John C. ‘Jack’ & Anna Belle (Smith) Winter.

He married Kim Arendell. While serving for the U.S.A.F., they were married June 25, 1976 at Clark A.F. Base in the Philippines. She survives. They shared a love for travel and would vacation and take weekend trips often. They enjoyed riding bikes together, playing slots at the casinos, or just sitting in their backyard watching the hummingbirds. For 43 years, they were always together.

Most would say that John was a very stubborn man full of sarcasm and opinions, but everyone knew his family was everything. His grandchildren were around him often and he attended all of their games to cheer them on or provide a little tough love. He could always make you laugh with his silly toys or funny drawings. He will forever be in our hearts.

In addition to his wife, John is also survived by:
TWO CHILDREN: Jon N. Winter and his wife Shanna of Quincy and Traci Brinkley and her husband Allen of LaGrange, MO.
FIVE GRANDCHILDREN: Haleigh Winter, Ivy Winter, Everley Winter, Corinne Brinkley and Clayton Brinkley.
THREE SISTERS: Becky Winter; Pam Pershing and her husband Bill and Kathy Bowen and her husband Rick.
Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 6:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. A Memorial visitation will be held at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 until the time of the services at 6:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Family in order to be given to Myleofibrosis Cancer Research. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
