John E. Knowles
John E. Knowles, age 76, of Quincy, died on Saturday, October 3, 2020 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on September 22, 1944 in Quincy, the son of Marshall and Jesse (Wright) Knowles.
John was employed by IDOT, Illinois Department of Transportation and also was owner and operator of his own salvage business. He was close to this family and attended Madison Park Christian Church.
John is survived by his children: Tad (Debby) Knowles, Tracy Knowles, Jackie Nelson and Josh Nelson; siblings: Raymond (Mary) Knowles, Mildred “Shorty” Lovelace, Norma (Warren) Cook, Imy Knowles and Sandra Dailing; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives also survive.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family services will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Services are in the care of Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
I’m sorry for the late condolences as I no longer live in Quincy. Our families go back many years from the Franklin/Castle neighborhood. Johnny was such a great guy that always had time to chat and that smile of his. So sorry for your loss
