John Dean Campbell
John Dean Campbell, age 48, of 620 Ohio Street, died on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. He was born on August 13, 1968 in Quincy, a son of John R. & Donna Mae (Moore) Campbell. He married Lynn Berry on May 30, 1992 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She survives.
John was a 1986 graduate of Liberty High School. He worked for twenty-three years as a LP Plant Manager for Heetco.
He was of the Christian faith.
John was an outdoorsman. He was happiest when he was with his family, including his niece and nephews who were like his own children. He loved people and his dogs. He will be remembered as a loving and loyal man.
In addition to Lynn, he is survived by his mother, Donna Campbell, of Quincy; his siblings, Sharon Louise (Bradley) Rosa of Camp Point, IL, Michael (Lisa) Berry and Lori (Bill) Chapman, all of Quincy; his mother and father-in-law, Michael and Barbara Berry of Quincy; his grandmother-in-law, Arlene N. Berry of Quincy; nephews and one niece, Brett L. Rosa, Ryan A. Rosa, Patrick Berry, Nicholas Berry, Katherine Berry, Zachary Chapman, Jacob Chapman and Levi Chapman. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and precious friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, a cousin Pam Sheurman and aunts and uncles.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society or to Fishing for Freedom.
I only knew John for a short while. I always enjoyed talking with him. He kept a positive attitude and was always friendly. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.
