John B. Sanders, age 79, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in the Illinois Veterans Home. He was born on September 9, 1942 in Hannibal, MO the son of Harry and Dorothy (Hubbard) Sanders. He married Sandra Peter on December 28, 1963. She survives. John worked in Finance and Banking in the Quincy area for many years. He then worked for many years at River Region Credit Union in Columbia, MO. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam era.

John was of the Christian Faith. He was an avid sportsman, playing baseball and golf throughout his life. He also enjoyed camping.

A DAUGHTER: GayLee Sanders of Quincy
GRANDCHILDREN: Jon Sanders (Audra) and Kailey Rooks (Rylee)
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Peyton, Brantley and Hunter.
SISTERS: Nancy Tippin (Morris) and Beth Kaufmann (Robert).
Nieces, nephews, and other relatives survive.

John was preceded in death by his parents and 2 great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Bennett.

Military honors will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Missouri United Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. A small reception will follow services at Comfort Inn & Suites in Moberly, MO. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
