Joel Strieker

Joel W. Strieker, age 62, of 2738 Parkwood Dr., died on Thursday, January 12, 2017 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on February 1, 1954 in Quincy, IL the son of Frederick and Genevieve (Schanz) Strieker.

Joel was a Tuber Operator for over 35 years for Stone Container Corp.

Joel loved his dogs and taking them for a ride (window down time). He enjoyed poetry, was an avid reader and music enthusiast. Joel was a gamer, liked camping, boating, paintball, fishing, playing cards and going to the casino. He was a self-taught artist & photographer, and enjoyed art collecting. He also made model sailboats. He also liked to travel, especially to the ocean. All the kids loved Joel and if you met him once, he was a friend for life.

He is survived by:
THREE SIBLINGS: John G. Strieker and his wife Linda of Quincy; Jennifer Brown and her husband Richard of Ewing, MO and Jane E. Smith and her husband Donald of Quincy.
NIECES AND NEPHEWS: Robert J. Strieker, Nicole S. Garner, Jaydon T. Garner, James Brown and his wife Kris, Paula Casey, Danny Pat Welsh, Janelle Min, Carrie Brown; Chasity Moore and her husband Brian, and Coty Smith.
Numerous other relatives and man friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the Family.     Janie and Donny, sure will miss Joel and his card playing. I remember when we all were together at Rich and Sandys. Loved it. Had a Great time.
    Our prayers are with you all and thinking of you as well.
