Jody V. Shipe

Jody V. Shipe, age 34, of Ft. Myers, Florida, formerly of Quincy, was called to be with God on April 1, 2012 at 1:25 PM. Jody graduated from Quincy Senior High in 1995. He grew up in Quincy and as a child loved spending time with his Grandma Dreyer and cousin David. He loved being in the country and the outdoors. He was in boy scouts for many years and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. As a young adult liked adventure and living on the edge. As time went on he enjoyed the warm weather of the south and the sound of the ocean. He was at peace when he was looking at the stars. He is now a star shining brightly for us.

Survivors include his mother, Theresa Shipe of Quincy.
TWO SISTERS: Jennifer Bordewick and her husband Mark and Joanna Shipe all of Quincy.
ONE BROTHER: Jacob Shipe of Quincy
THREE NEPHEWS: Brett Bordewick, Blayne Bordewick and Kayden Shipe all of Quincy.
ONE NIECE: Breanna Bordewick of Quincy
VERY CLOSE FRIEND: Jody Shipe of Ft. Myers, Florida.
Several aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved four legged friend “Cody” also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father Lonnie Shipe, Maternal grandmother Joan Dreyer, Paternal Grandparents: Leo & Arlene Shipe, uncles David Sherwood and Jerry Guthrie and one aunt Bernice Guthrie.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Josh Finklea. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

    I am so very sorry for your loss Jody was a very sweet person who who had the warmest smile and the most beautiful blue eyes Jody you will forever be loved and missed and if you ever wonder if you are thought of just know more then you can ever imagine ..
