Joanne Marie (Hughes) Fuhrman, age 72, of Quincy, died on December 5, 2021 in her home. She was born on February 3, 1949 in Chillicothe, MO, the daughter of Opal George and Miriam Marie (Mabie) Hughes. She married William “Bill” Fuhrman on April 8, 1967, in Harrison, Arkansas.

Along with her husband, Joanne owned and operated Bill’s Signs in Quincy, IL, since 1973. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Joanne was a devoted and loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She loved cooking, planting flowers and tending to her garden.

Joanne spent her life taking care of others. She especially dedicated her life to caring for her daughter Missy, who was handicapped at birth.
Joanne took great pride and joy in giving Missy the love and special care that she required and deserved throughout her life. Missy lived in the home, until her recent passing at the age of 52, a true testament to Joanne’s love and devotion.

Joanne is survived by her daughter-in-law; Jessica Doss (Jeffrey) of Prosper, TX, her Granddaughter; Isabella Fuhrman also of Prosper, TX, and her cousin; Richard Hughes of Chillicothe, MO. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband, son; William D Fuhrman, Jr, and daughter; Melissa (Missy) Fuhrman.
