Joan Siebers was one of the sweetest people I have ever known, not only was she a great neighbor, but a great person. She would stop and talk, invite you into her home and over you fresh cookies or a glass of tea. She always had a smile on her face and was just a joy to be around, always ready to hear a story, and to tell one of hers. They truly do not make people like Mrs. Siebers anymore. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of her family. She will be greatly missed, by not only her family, but her friends and the people who lived on the old gravel road.
Dear Siebers,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss, and at the same time we know that she’s having a good time in heaven right now with so many loved ones!
You all have been such good neighbors over the decades, and we have been sharing some wonderful memories with each other. For example, Donna remembers “She was a great lady and always so kind to me. She talked to me like a grown-up when I was just a little girl.”
May all of your favorite memories bring a smile to you all!
The Schneider Family
What a grand woman she was! I have many fond memories of her growing up. My deepest sympathies to all of you.
A wonderful lady!
Dear Siebers Family,
We are sorry for the loss of your dear Joan. Joan was such a kind, warm, welcoming and supportive neighbor to us through the years. She was a humble spirit, always ready to serve. When we worked for Harold baling hay or helping with planting, Joan always made great dinners for us, quietly serving us all. And at the end of the day she would bring out a plate of sandwiches for us to enjoy before the milking began. Who would have guessed that her fried sausage sandwhiches could taste so good for breakfast on a cold winter’s morning. When we came home to visit as adults, she was always the first to come and see us after mass and make a fuss over our children. At the end of the gravel road where I grew up, Joan and Harold created their own little slice of heaven, a working farm that produced abundant food and a loving family. Her legacy lives on in her family who devoted so much time and energy to helping and caring for Joan in her later years; their example of selfless love is a light that the whole community witnessed. May Joan, Harold, MaryJo, and all their family and friends now enjoy life together with the Father. And may God bless you with peace and happy memories of times spent with Joan. Love, Mike and Patty Schneider
I am so sorry for your loss. So many years have passed since we shared our childhood together and your mom was my “spare mom”. I’ll never forget her butter & sugar bread or fighting the wasps in the out house! Remember when she was pregnant with Dorothy and Harold told us if it was another girl he wasn’t bringing her home ………….he loved getting a rise from us!! We sure took alot of walks from each others house for play dates many moons ago. I’ll always miss seeing Harold at auctions and Joan out and about in town. May the light of her life always shine within you and may God give you strength and comfort through this difficult time. Our prayers are with you.
Dear Nancy, Barb, Dot, and families:
Your Mom was just one of the sweetest ladies I ever knew. And she was such a kind hostess. When we came to visit she was just such a generous kind person. When I was a kid and came to play and visit, she would serve a snack such as apples fresh from the tree, yum. And in the winter, I remember your Dad, Harold, saying it had to be 0 degrees before skating on the pond. One time on a very cold winter evening we had a skating party at your farm, and Harold had built a bon-fire and Joan served all kind of wonderful snacks to make a grand time.
And boy did she keep a spic and span house. I remember so many times visiting and to a kid it seemed she would be ironing all the time.
Joan was always cheerful and had a ready smile and greeting after church for all the Schneider family members, with kind words and inquiries on how we were doing to follow.
She was just a joy and graced our lives! We are blessed to have known your Mom!
Love, Pam and Ken Markin
Although we have been gone from St Brigid’s for many years, I will always remember working with your mom at the many diinners. She was a delight to work with and I learned many cooking tips from her. She was so friendly to everyone. Bill & I offer our sympathy for your loss and prayers for your mom and all family members.
