Jimmie L. Gregory, age 78, of Quincy, died on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on February 19, 1939 in Quincy, IL the son of John Robert & Mary Jane (Langdon) Gregory. He married Barbara Ann Morgan on July 24, 1960 in Carthage. She preceded him in death on February 18, 2015.

Mr. Gregory worked for the City of Quincy in the Street and Bridge Department for 27 years. He was a talented musician and played with numerous groups over the years. He liked to hunt, fish and garden. He was also a joke teller.

He is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Nancy Deming of Quincy and Laura (Rick) Feltes of Palmyra, MO; one son, Jimmie Gregory, Jr. of Quincy.
SIX GRANDCHILDREN, Ashley, Shawn, Chris, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, and Miranda.
FOUR GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Jayden, Chayse, Mackenzie and Lexy.
TWO SISTERS: Betty Shore and her husband Sheldon & Joann Kitchell and her husband Don.
ONE BROTHER: Von Gregory and his wife Pat.

In addition to his wife, Jimmie was preceded in death by a daughter: Janet Goodwin.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3rd, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
