Jessie Lucille Arnold, age 91, of Camp Point, IL, died on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 2:25 a.m. in North Adams Home, Mendon, IL. She was born on December 31, 1922 in Beardstown, IL, a daughter of William & Carrie (Randall) Darnell. She eloped to Missouri on August 1, 1942 with her military boyfriend, Leonard H. Arnold. He preceded her in death.

Jessie was a beautician for over 40 years, owning and operating several salons in various communities. She retired in 1988.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and baking. She will be fondly remembered for her homemade pies, cakes, fudge, pizza, bread and sugar-coated donuts that were a holiday treat.

She is survived by:
A SON, Philip Arnold of Camp Point, IL;
A DAUGHTER, Patricia Dobson of Golden, IL;
A GRANDDAUGHTER, Amber L. Nicholl of Quincy;
TWO GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, Dominic Puls and Ryland Starman both of Quincy;
BROTHER-IN-LAW, Kenneth Arnold of Edwardsville, IL;
SISTER-IN-LAW, Mary Robinson of Wisconsin;
A NIECE, Judith Norton, of Colorado;
A NEPHEW, Glen Darnell, of Liberty;
ONE COUSIN, Donald Teaney, of Nixa, MO
and numerous great-nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, William Darnell, Carrie Kee & her step-father Clouse Kee and two brothers, Bill Darnell & Thomas Kee.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements are with the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
