Jerry E. Richie

Jerry E. Richie age 73, of 2130 Harrison, formerly of 227 Locust Street, died on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 8:43 a.m. in Good Samaritan Home. Jerry was born January 24, 1943 in Quincy, a son of Robert and Myrtle A. (Beaston) Richie.

Jerry had been self-employed as an auto body painter for many years, he had also worked at Master Tank, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Quincy.

Among his favorite things were spending time with his family, going to car shows, camping and fishing. He taught himself to play the bass guitar and enjoyed playing and listening to country music.

Survivors include his three children, Jeri Linn Trenter; Jarrod Richie and Melissa McGlaughlin and her husband Ted all of Quincy; a brother, Robert “Cork” and his significant other, Bobbie of Quincy; 12 grandchildren, Nathan Trenter, Nicholas Trenter, Courtney Cookson, MacKenzie Cookson, Ted Allen McGlaughlin, Tyler McGlaughlin, Conner McGlaughlin, Shawn Tangy, Amber Lair, Kim Richie, Journey and Justice Richie. 18 great grandchildren, several step-children, step grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Bobby West and Jacky Ray Richie.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery by the Rev. James Riley. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family.
