Jerry D. Barnes, age 63, of Coatsburg, IL, died on Friday, January 5, 2018 in his home. He was born on September 20, 1954, the son of Roger Brown and Joe Ann (Barnes) Brown. He married Jessica Milbert on August 5, 1995 in Loraine, IL.

Jerry was a machine repairman at Quincy Compressor until his retirement. He served in the US Army in the 101st Airborne.

He loved dirt track racing, car shows, all things cars and mechanical, and especially tinkering with the garage. He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica; mother, JoeAnn Brown; children, Michael (Chelsea Flot) of Quincy and Ronald of Coatsburg; a grandson, Greyson Barnes; mother and father-in-law, Ronald and Bonnie Milbert; brother-in-law, Jerme (Cindy) Milbert;sister-in-law, Mona (Tom) East; nieces and nephew, Olivia, Sophia, Madeline and Owen East.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Roger Brown; son, Jerry Barnes, Jr.; multiple aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services for Jerry D. Barnes will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Faith Baptist Church, Camp Point, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Faith Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Graymount Cemetery, Coatsburg, IL. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
