Jerome A. McDonald

Jerome A. McDonald age 70, of Quincy died on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:18 p.m. in his home. Jerome was born in Cook County, IL on December 8, 1948. He was a son of James & Roberta (Nance) McDonald, and was raised by his grandmother, “Big Momma”.

Jerome married Vicky Lowery on August 31, 1996 in Quincy, she survives.

Jerome served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was of the Christian faith.
Jerome had an interest in community affairs, and in 1974 he ran in for the Mayor of Quincy. He mentored many young people and was dearly loved.

In addition to his wife Vicky, survivors include his children: Dan (Rueshon) Ingram of Minooka, IL: LaShawn (Calvin) Smith of Oklahoma; Samuel (Lynn) McGurder of Pittsburgh, A’drielle McGurder of Canton, MO PA: Step-children: April (James) Spears of Quincy; Janna (Reggie Ewing) Brown of St. Louis, MO: Antonio Brown of Quincy. A son-in-law, Clarence Skipper of Quincy; a brother, Larry McDonald of Chicago; a sister Theresa Clark of Fort Wayne, IN; 23 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother; a step-daughter Charmaine Skipper; two brothers, Tyrone McDonald and Victor Brown.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and private services are planned.
