Jeri L. Rees

Jeri L. Rees, age 64, of Maywood, MO, died on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in the Emergency Room of Blessing Hospital. She was born on July 25, 1949 in Quincy the daughter of Charles W. & Jacqueline (Hessing) Davis. She married Ronald Rees on March 30, 1968. He survives.

Jeri was of the Protestant faith. Mrs. Rees was a cook at the former St. Mary Hospital. She owned and operated the ‘Whistle Stop’ Restaurant in Lewistown, MO. For years she also helped the concessions at Davis Auctions. Jeri loved crafts and ceramics.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by:
HER MOTHER: Jacqueline Davis of Quincy;
TWO CHILDREN: Angela Gatton and her husband Jason of Burlington, IA, Rhonda Freeman of Canton, MO
THREE GRANDCHILDREN: Drake Rees, Shyanne and Dakota Freeman.
ONE BROTHER: Michael Davis and his wife Angela of Scott City, MO and
ONE SISTER: Diana Reis and her husband Daniel of Quincy
Numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Jeri was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Steve Disseler. Interment at a later date in Maywood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

    Ron, I am so sorry to hear of Jeri’s passing. You two were a great couple, & have many fond memories of you guys. I just lost my husband John on Jan. 21, of cancer, so I send my prayers of strength & thoughts to you & your children. Rita Damhorst
