Jeanette K. Bohne

Jeanette K. Bohne, age 86, of Quincy, died Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Maple Grove Lodge Nursing Home in Louisiana, MO.

Born June 7, 1936, in Quincy, Jeanette was a daughter of the late Anton H. and Hilda W. Ohnemus Bohne.

Jeanette was a member of St. Francis Solanus Parish in Quincy where she was a lector and Communion Minister. Jeanette was also a mathematics and chemistry teacher in the St. Louis Public Schools in St. Louis, MO. She retired from this position in July 1, 1999.
In St. Louis, Jeanette was very active civically as well as professionally. She was a member of Business and Professional Women’s Club, American Association of University Women, Missouri State Teachers Association, National Education Association, St. Louis Zoo Friends, St. Louis Science Center, Southwest Garden Neighborhood Association, Southwest Garden Neighborhood Association Mobile Patrol, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Mathematics Collaborative of St. Louis, Mathematics Educators Group of St. Louis.

Jeanette was a speaker and presided at numerous National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conventions. Her biography appears in twenty-two Who’s Who in the United States and England.

Jeanette has donated her body to St. Louis University School of Medicine for scientific study.

    It was always a pleasure to talk to Jeanette when she used to come in to the Quincy Public Library.

    Jeanette gave so much of herself during life, and she gave the ultimate gift at the end of her life by donating her body to science. Such a wonderful gift to mankind. May she rest in peace.
