Janet M. Schwartz, age 64, of the Sunset Home, formerly of 2535 Elm, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 12:01 AM in the Home. She was born on October 7, 1946 in Quincy, the daughter of Paul B. & Marjorie (Schepers) Wavering.

Janet attended the Illinois School for the Blind in Jacksonville, IL from the age of 5. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and Quincy College. Janet was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Janet enjoyed reading in Braille, playing cards, and singing. She dearly loved being with her family. Janet was a member of the Illinois Council for the Blind and the Peoria Federation for the Blind.

HER MOTHER: Marjorie Wavering of Quincy
ONE BROTHER: Jeff Wavering of Macon, MO.
NIECES AND NEPHEWS: Christine Hartline and her husband Roy, Jennifer Gohagan and her husband Dan and Tony Wavering.
Several great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives also survive.

Janet was preceded in death by her father and a brother Jon Wavering.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church on Saturday morning from 9:15 until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church or to the Sunset Home. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
