James Willard Starman, age 84, of 112 Herford, Payson, IL, formerly of Licking, MO, died on Friday, June 22, 2012 in Sycamore Healthcare Centre. He was born on October 30, 1927, a son of John Henry & Cecelia (Haskins) Starman. He married Charmaine K. Herren in 1952 in Quincy.

James served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was self-employed as a mechanic in lawn care.

He is survived by children Randy Starman and his wife Rhonda of Quincy, Robert “Robbie” Starman and Ricky Starman of Payson, IL, Ronda Meyers and Robin Ballinger and her husband Jeff all of Quincy, Terri Nakamura and her husband Carl of CA, Tina Windolf and her husband John of Quincy and adopted son Jerry; a brother Glenn Starman of Rock Island, IL and a sister Virginia Stroud of Quincy; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by long-time companion Jerri Driskill, brothers Lloyd, Richard, John, Erine and Harold Starman, sisters Nora Sands, Iva Gooding, Delores Brown, Gertrude Brockick, Ionie Starman and Eva Asher.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be scheduled at a later date. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
