James W. “Jim” Harris
James W. “Jim” Harris, age 84, of Quincy Illinois died on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Blessing Hospital. Jim was born on July 18, 1935 in Richfield, Illinois. The son of Earl and Goldie (Haistings) Harris. He married Marilyn J. Jenkins on September 5, 1959. She preceded him in death on October 30, 2011.
Jim was of the Christian faith and was a member of Madison Park Christian Church. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved the time he spent with his family and grandchildren. He could fix or make anything, he made cradles for his grandchildren to be passed down for generations.
He is survived by three daughters; Barbara G. (David) Trenter of Liberty, Illinois; Susan J. (Bob) Glover of Quincy, Illinois; Caren C. (Bud) Richie of Quincy, Illinois. Four siblings; Joe Harris of Barry, Illinois; Russell (Imogene) Harris of Pittsfield, Illinois; Rosie (George) Hively of Barry, Illinois and Frances Robinette of Chapin, Illinois. Grandchildren; Nicolle (Nate) Gerhardt; Jessica (Travis) Beever; Matthew (Samantha) Glover. Step-Grandchildren Nathan (Tammie) Trenter, Nicholas Trenter. Great Grandchildren; Dalton Tournear, Brynlee Gerhardt, Aleigha Beever, and a great granddaughter due in January. Step- Great Grandchildren; Charline Trenter, Ayla Trenter and David Trenter. Many cousins, nieces and nephews survive.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, father, mother, sister and brother-in-law (Dorothy and George Zulauf), and sister-in-law (Wanda Harris).

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Cemetery, near Plainville, Illinois. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Adams County Chapter.
Jim was a kind and beautiful soul. He always had a smile and a great story. He will be incredibly missed but I am sure your Mom met him in Heaven with the biggest hug. He was the best. I am praying for all of his family
I am saddened to here of the loss of Mr. Harris . I was his barber for many years and looked forward to seeing him each month to discuss Barry news and the Cardinals . He will be greatly missed.
