James Vonburg
James Vonburg, age 66, of 1459 Wormans Road, Quincy, died on May 27, 2009 in Quincy, Illinois in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 4, 1943 in Quincy, Illinois, a son of Werner & Ada (Lowe) Vonburg. He married Sally (Breuer) Vonburg. She survives.
James was of the Christian faith.
He was a graduate of Unity High School. He was a laborer who worked for Local 919 for many years. He retired from Constant Products.
James loved duck hunting, fishing, and he enjoyed being outdoors.
Survivors include:
CHILDREN: Jeanne Starman and her husband J.R. of Loraine, IL, Robert Vonburg and his wife Laura of West Point, IL, Dianna Hodges and her husband Rodney of Quincy, Ruth Ann Martin and her husband Rich and Aaron Vonburg all of Quincy;
STEP-SON: Travis Smith of Marceline, IL;
BROTHERS: Robert Vonburg of Quincy, Michael Vonburg of Quincy, Werner Vonburg and his wife Tammy of Barry;
SISTERS: Kathy Archambo and her husband Ed of Ursa, and Mary Daugherty and her husband Ron of Mendon;
GRANDCHILDREN: Kenny, Kyle, and Kristyn Starman, Ryan Martin, Terry Hodges, and Lauren and Larissa Vonburg;
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Abby, Hailey, Kenny, and Kendra Starman.
James was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Joanne Gilland, a brother Arthur Vonburg, and an infant son, James Vonburg.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to visitation. Memorials are suggested to Blessing Foundation for HOSPICE.
