James Tebbano

James Phillip Tebbano, age 86, of the Illinois Veterans Home, Quincy, IL and formerly of Belleville, IL died on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 4:00 AM in Blessing Hospital. He was born on March 26, 1926 in Scotia, NY the son of Nicolangelo & Louisa Tebbano. He married Clara Obal on May 1, 1948 in St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in East St. Louis, IL. She survives. Mr. Tebbano was a sales representative for General Foods Corp. from 1952 until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Tebbano was a graduate of Schenectady High School in New York and attended the University of Kansas. He served in the United States Air Force during WWII. He is a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church in Belleville, IL.

Mr. Tebbano was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1028 in Belleville, IL, the American Legion and the VFW. He was also a member of the American Philatelic Society, the Belleville Stamp Club and the PSOP Bridge Club.

The family would like to thank the Illinois Veterans Home, Blessing Hospital and Blessing Hospice in Quincy for their dedicated care and support of James.

TWO CHILDREN: Jerry Tebbano and his wife Sharon of Aurora, Ohio and Janice Richert and her husband Gary of Swansea, IL.
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Ryan Richert and his wife Jennifer of Maryville, IL; Erika Nardi and her husband Matthew of O’Fallon, IL; Patrick Tebbano and his wife Nicole of Las Cruces, NM, and Christa Lloyd and her husband Sam of Springfield, Ohio
SIX GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Ava Richert, Gavin Nardi, Elaina and Mary Lloyd, Jonah and Hannah Tebbano.
ONE SISTER: Rose Jones and her husband Philip of Glendale, NY
THREE BROTHERS-IN-LAW: Ted Obal of Hillsdale, NJ; Joe Obal and his wife Marilyn of O’Fallon, IL and Stanley Obal and his wife Cathy of Fairview Heights, IL.
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Peter Tebbano along with his wife Edna, sisters Mary Tebbano and Marie Tama along with her husband Joe.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 9:30 AM in the All Faiths Chapel of the Illinois Veterans Home, Quincy, IL. Interment in Sunset Cemetery of the Illinois Veterans Home with military rites conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be held at the All Faiths Chapel of the Illinois Veterans Home on Friday morning from 8:30 AM until the time of the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund, the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the Quincy Hospitality House all of Quincy, IL.
