James Michel Keefe, age 62, of Mendon, died on Sunday, August 22, 2021 in St. Francis Hospital, Peoria, IL. He was born on December 20, 1958 in Quincy, the son of James Neese and Mary Louise (Michel) Keefe.

Mike was proud of his former business Keefe’s Gunsmithing in Quincy, where he specialized in gunsmithing and tackle.

He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and attended Gunsmith training in Colorado. Mike was an outdoorsman who liked hunting, fishing, camping and a good bonfire.

Survivors include his daughter, Cassandra Keefe of Mendon; grandchildren, Marcus, Dominick, James and Diane Keefe.

A brother, John Keefe and his wife Diane; nephews, Adam, and Alex Keefe and a niece Quinn Keefe. Great nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents,

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Saint Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to a Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
