James “Jim” Robison
James “Jim” Robison from Liberty, IL, passed away at the age of 78, on February 20th, 2010. He was born on May 18th, 1931 in Perry, Mo a son of William A. and Suzanne (Gillam) Robison. Jim married Claudette “Lefty” Kasson on September 23rd, 1955. Jim was a proud Army Veteran of the Korean War Conflict, and received an honorable discharge, being promoted five times from Private to Sergeant First Class in his two years of Army service.
During Jim’s earlier years, he worked for Motorola in Quincy as a Supervisor and Manager over production, however his favorite job was cleaning state highways during his latter work years with the State of Illinois – Transportation Dept. in Quincy. Illinois. Jim loved his family very much and was an excellent provider for his surviving wife, Claudette “Lefty” Kasson of fifty five years, and his three surviving sons, Richard James Robison from Long Beach, CA, Robert E. Robison, from Quincy, Illinois, and William Mason Robison, married to Michelle Vanderley of Quincy, Illinois. He had three grandchildren, Kayla , Jenna, and Landon Robison, who Grandpa Jim loved to spoiled on a regular basis.
Jim loved to boat ride on the Mississippi River with his family. He also had served on the Liberty School board during his early years.
Jim was also very involved in Baseball, Basketball, and Horse racing activities with his sons. During Jim’s retirement years, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially on his front porch in Liberty, waving to his Liberty friends as they drove by his home. He also made daily trips to Liberty Township to visit his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his uncle and aunts, Floyd Eli Robison, Frances Leonard, Courtney Leonard, Grandfathers, Abraham Gillam, William Franklin Robison, and his Grandmother, Nannie Quinn Robison.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 25th, 2010 at 12:00 noon
in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home, by the Rev. Kevin McGinnis.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 to 12:00 Noon. at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Xander Cemetery, Liberty, with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #640.

Today is Memorial Day and I miss my Dad very much and remember his passing seven years ago and he served with honor as a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army. Miss my Dad, miss not talking to him on Memorial day. Son Rick
