Dorothy and family, you have our deepest sympathies. Jim was one of a kind… and boy did he make me laugh. Working and hanging out with him at Larry’s was truly a blessing.
Mr. C, you were one of the best people I’ve ever known. Thank you for making us laugh and your kindness. I hope you don’t mind that I’ve stolen your “peanut butter” line over the years! You will be missed.

Mrs. C and Family,
We were very sad to hear the news of Mr. C’s passing. He was such an important person in my life – my 2nd dad during my years in Quincy. He will truly be missed. May God watch over your family during your time of need. With our sincere sympathy.
Jan and Ray Allison and all five of our kids spent many, many good times with the Costigan family and we will be with all of you in spirit on the celebration of life for Jim. Our prayers and thoughts are out for all of you. Know that he is now at eternal rest.
Mr. C was one of the most kind and gentle men I ever met. He was a friend to so many students for so many years. Everone loved Mr. and Mrs. C. They made Quincy so much more like home for us all. Larry’s was another home to us college students. Going to Larry’s was more like going to hang out at a friends basement after school and Mr. C more like that friend’s dad than a typical college bar. A home away from home and a dad away from your dad. It has been many years but I still miss walking in there and seeing Mr. C behind the bar…or trimming the roast beef. He was a gentle friend. Many of us will never forget him, Larry’s or Mrs. C. Love and best wishes to the Costigan family. Truly the passing of part of an indelible memory. A small part of all of our history, identity is gone.
I am so sorry to hear about Mr C. The favorite part of my college experience was hanging out at Larry’s and you and Mr C. were the main reason for that. It was a home away from home. Thank you for the great memories, he will be truly missed… one of kind.
To the Costigan Family, sorry for your great loss. I had the great fortune of working at Larry’s for Mr. C and if he taught me anything it was “Peanut Butter”. I’m I am truly sorry for your loss.
ANGELA/FAMILY..YOR GRANPAW WAS A FUNNY LIL MAN..I REMEMBER WHEN THEY HAD “LARRY’S” AND I WOULD ORDER CHILI DOGS BY THE DOZON FOR FACTORY WORKERS,HE’D SAY SOME OF THE FUNNIEST THINGS TO ME..HE WILL BE MISSED BY MANY–HE WAS A GREAT,KIND,FUNNY MAN..
We’ll all miss you Mr. C. Quincy would have never been the same without Larry’s…thank you, and your family, for every memory…you are in our thoughts and prayers.
So sorry to learn that your dear husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather passed away this week.
