James A. Goodwin
James A. “Jim” Goodwin age 78, of 2413 Lake Drive South, Quincy, IL died on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 6:20 p.m. in his home. Jim was born October 2, 1937 in Fall Creek Township, IL a son of George A. and Mae (Smith) Goodwin. He married Judith V. Requet on February 28, 1965 in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Jim had worked at Marblehead Lime, Electric Wheel and he later worked at Quincy College in the Maintenance Department until his retirement.
He was of the Catholic faith. Jim was a good father, he loved to be outdoors and going camping and fishing.
In addition to his wife Judith, survivors include his son Patrick Goodwin of Quincy; sisters and brothers, Shirley (Ed) Gerard, Donald William (Janet) Goodwin; Cynthia Reeves, Michael (Barbara) Goodwin, Jeff (Candie) Goodwin and Beverly Snow.
Many nieces, nephews and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, James A. and Jane Goodwin, August and Mary Smith, and a brother-in-law, Don Reeves.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. A private interment is planned. Visitation will be Friday from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, to the Donor’s Choice, or masses may be given in his memory.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Jim was such a caring individual. I will always remember the kindness him and all of your family displayed toward me over the years. Know that you will be in my prayers.

Judy & Domino….So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I will never forget seeing him at Sprouts after hours and Vahle calling him Daddy.
