My condolences to the family. I have known Jack Bunte ever since I transferred my membership to Legion Post 37 about 17 years or so ago. I remember him maintaining the Legion Post, taking attendance and selling Raffle Tickets at each meeting over the years. When I came to a monthly meeting, he would always ask me what was happening with the Log Cabin Village, when I became involved with it, and with the Antique Auto Museum before that. He was a very “personable” individual who supported many things we were involved at the Legion. He enjoyed living on the river and being involved at the Legion. As a photographer and a former Legion Commander, I was instrumental in adding a Legion Cap to his Legion “Honorary” Commander photo, when we made him an “Honorary” Commander years ago, because of his many years of service to the Post. Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed by all of us who knew you.
