Jack W. Binkley

Jack W. Binkley, age 71, of the Illinois Veteran’s Home, formerly of East Alton, IL died on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 4:05 a.m. in the home. He was born on September 13, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, a son of Marmie & Evelyn (Ott) Binkley and his step-father, Freddie Highley, Sr. who raised him.

Jack served in the U.S. Army. He worked as an animal control officer in East Alton, IL until his retirement.

Jack was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed traveling & bowling. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan, and loved Forensic Science.

Jack is survived by:
TWO SONS, Kevin W. Chapnick and his wife Barbara of Nashville, TN and Dennis Binkley of East Alton, IL;
FIVE GRANDCHILDREN
ELEVEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN
A BROTHER, Roger Binkley and
A SISTER: Debbie Highley

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Freddie Highley, Sr., a sister Vivian Hodge, and brothers, Tom Highley & Freddie Highley, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the All Faiths Chapel at the Illinois Veteran’s Home. Interment in Sunset Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the All Faiths Chapel. Memorial may be made to Illinois Veterans Home Activities Fund.
The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

    I am so sorry for your loss! Jack was a great, fun loving man. I had the pleasure of meeting him and caring for him at the Illinois veterans home in quincy! He will be missed by many!!
