Jack Manson Duvall

Jack Manson Duvall, age 85, of the Illinois Veteran’s Home, formerly of 3415 Harmony Hill, Quincy, died on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 27, 1930 in Quincy, a son of Jacob Manson & Margaret Laura (Malm) Duvall. He married Thelma Lochman on August 30, 1952 in St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2012.

Jack served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany from 1948 – 1952 as tank commander.

He worked at Irwin Paper Company, retiring as warehouse manager.

He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Jack enjoyed tinkering with old tractors and cars. He liked making the old look new.

He is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Karen Smith and her husband Brian ; Jeff Duvall and his wife Christine; and Janet Duvall, all of Quincy
NINE GRANDCHILDREN: Luke DeMaster-Smith and his wife Rayna; Jake Smith and his fiance Kelly Brooks; Wesley Smith; Ashley Duvall and her fiance Brandon Griggs; Destiny Purdy; Kevin McBride, Jr.; Justin McBride; Jonet Roberts; Jaeden Roberts.
ONE SISTER: Carol Miller and her husband Greg
ONE BROTHER: Dale Duvall and his wife Ruth.

Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to his wife, Thelma, and his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Ralph & Glenn Duvall.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church. Private Interment at a later date will take place at Quincy Memorial Park with military rites conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Parish Center or to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed seeing your dad at church at the Vets Home. I am unable to attend on Saturday, but I want you all to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this time.
