Irene M. Arnold, age 86,of Quincy, died on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 in Good Samaritan Home. She was born on July 15, 1934 in Quincy, the daughter of Paul and Mildred (Willer) Schullian. She married Richard Lee ‘Dick’ Arnold on June 18, 1955 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2005.
Irene was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame.
Irene loved spending time with family and always had time for neighbors. She was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church where she assisted sacristans with church linens. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Francis and the Funeral Dinner Ministry. She was involved in many activities with her children, but Scouting was a family passion. Irene’s yard contained gardens for flowers and vegetables. Many have shared in her gardening success and bounteous harvests. She was an avid seamstress and crafter. After losing her mobility due to health issues her love of sewing and needlework continued. We have all been blessed with her generosity.
She is survived by her children: Jean (Charlie) Condon of Arlington, VA ; Charles Arnold of East Moline, IL; Susan (Jeff) Timpe of Hannibal, MO; Melissa “Missy” Arnold of Quincy; and Jeffrey Arnold of Waterloo, IA; Grandchildren: Jason (Jenny) Crotchett; Coleen Haddock; Jonathan Timpe; Tyler Timpe and Jackie Orr.
Great grandchildren: Brianna (Ian) Earley, Abigail Haddock and Cameron Haddock.

Irene was always such a wonderful person. As a young teenager, I babysat for her children. Heaven has gained a new angel.
We send our sympathy to your family. Jenny is proud to be part of your family. Blessings & love.
Irene will be greatly missed by all of us. We are sorry we can not be there in person but we join you in spirit and love. We will send a donation to the Franciscan facility in Manitowoc, WI in Irene’s name (Fr. Jim Hoffman lives there) Love to each of you, Paul and Mary
Jean, Chuck, Sue, Missy, and Jeff,
I think Aunt Irene always had a sewing or craft project in process and was generous in giving those to others. Love my kitchen towels and the oven mitts with matching casserole wrap. She never missed an Arnold family gathering if she could help it. God bless her and all of you.
