To the many family & friends of Leroy, my most sincere condolences go out to all of you. I am just finding out about his passing, months later. Leroy was a basketball teammate of mine, and oh what a special player he was! But even more important was his way of befriending everyone on the team & leading by example. Most of my very best memories in life are that one season I got to be a teammate of his. Leroy…if you’re listening from that good place, thank you buddy for the inspiration you provided myself & so many others.

LeRoy and I believe a cousin played for Coach Ellison at Bowling Green in the MVIT at Unity. LeRoy led one of the best teams ever to play in the MVIT. Met him a couple times at the MVIT. Class act.

My greatest memories was as cousins we didn’t get along well he always try to beat me up after school so when we got released to go home in elementary. I would run all the way home. He lived about 3 houses down from me. Some times I would tell 2 of my our cousins and he would leave me alone. I will always remember when we turned 40 He was so upset didn’t want to get old. So I would always get in touch with him on August 12. to see how it felt to be a year older. 17 days older than me. We always had a laugh about those days. He will be greatly missed .Love you fly high

Leroy was a great guy. My fondest remembrance of him was in Phys Ed one year. Everyone was told to partner up and do sit-ups. I thought this was my biggest chance to do something noteworthy in athletics. Sit-ups were one of the few things I could excel at. Leroy and I were the last two left at the end of class and we were given permission to keep going as long as we could. I did over 1500. Lee did over 1700 !! He was a star and a great competitor!!
