Henrietta “Sue” Lane

Henrietta “Sue” Lane age 77, of 2904 Whewell, Quincy, died on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 4:43 a.m. in her home. Sue was born February 17, 1938 in St. Francisville, IL a daughter of Henry & Aline (Cogdill) Briner. She married Delbert R. Lane on October 17, 1959 in Vincennes, IN. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2015.

Sue had worked for Niemann Foods, Inc. in Quincy and for Ben Franklin when she and Delbert lived in Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Vincennes, IN.

She was of the Christian faith. Sue loved being with her grandchildren, camping and playing Bingo.

Survivors include: THREE CHILDREN: Cheryl Hollensteiner and her husband Mike of Quincy; Rondell “Ronnie” Lane and his wife Kim of Fowler, and Christopher Lane and his wife Kerry of Quincy.
EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN: Tonya R. Blackorby and her husband Mike; Scott Hollensteiner; DW Messner and his wife Gretchen; Dustin Lane, Justin Lane, Christopher Lane, Jr., Kristofer Johnson and Dakota Johnson.
SEVEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Haily, Natalie, J’Leigha, Jazzlyn, Jaron, Pepper and Garron. SISTERS-IN-LAW: Judith Kellams and Wanda Lane.
ONE BROTHER, Fred Briner of Florida.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a granddaughter, Leigh Messner.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the Great River Honor Flight.

    Loved Sue. Was always a happy and funny person. Sincere sympathy to all of the family. She is with the love of her life and her Momma and Daddy now
