Helen Redenius
Helen L. Redenius age 87, of North Adams Home, Mendon, IL and formerly of La Prairie, IL died Friday, August 24, 2018 at 4:43 a.m. in the Home. Helen was born August 11, 1931 in Clayton, IL a daughter of Ralph and Sarah (Hodson) Hendricks. Helen married Virgil Redenius on October 28, 1950 in Golden, IL. He preceded her in death in 2011.
Helen retired in 2007 after having worked as a caretaker and housekeeper at Golden Good Shepherd Home.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Helen was always busy. She loved to work in the yard, grow flowers, sew, crochet, play with her dog, collect dolls, and brag about her grandchildren!
Survivors include her children, Kathy Lane and her husband Steve of Hannibal, MO; Vicky Cleeton and her husband Don of Ewing, MO; and Heidi Laws of Canton, MO; Two Sisters-in-Law, Lorene Totsch and Peggy Redenius;
Eight Grandchildren: Kelly Stark, Andrea Burroughs, Steffani Miller and her husband, Dustin; Chris Cleeton and his wife Misty; Carrie Turner and her husband Jamie; Casey Cleeton and his wife Billi; Brian Laws and his wife April and Shannon Laws and her fiancee Andrew Stupavsky;
Twenty Great-Grandchildren, Four Great-Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ralph Hendricks, and a grandson, Evan Scott Laws.
Helen’s wishes were to donate her body to medical science. A celebration of Helen’s Life will be held on Tuesday, August 28 at 6:30 pm at the Chapel of the North Adams Nursing Home in Mendon. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Blessing Hospice or North Adams Nursing Home.
