Helen “Peggy” M. Wortman
Helen “Peggy” M. Wortman, age 65, of Quincy, died on Friday, December 2, 2022, in Blessing Hospital. She was born on March 8, 1957, in St. Joseph, MO the daughter of William Thomas and June Raye (Paden) Kelly.
Peggy graduated in 1976 from Quincy High School. After graduation, she was a caregiver for the mentally handicapped at Transitions. She was in a bad accident years ago, which took her away from her work and some of the other things she liked to do.
Peggy never stopped being the caring and loving person she always was with her family and friends. Peggy was funny, a great listener and enjoyed having company as much as they also enjoyed being with her.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Kelly (Orville White) Wortman and Michelle K. Wortman both of Quincy; grandchildren: Kyra White, Elizabeth Harrison, Caleb Harrison, and Noah Crane; two sisters: Theresa (Steve) Fisher of Columbia, MO and Andrea (Andrew) Snellen of Moore, OK; a surrogate daughter Amanda McCormick; nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Vicki, Christine and Becky.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held in Quincy, IL at a later date. A private inurnment will take place later in St. Joseph, Missouri. Messages may be shared with her family at:
