Helen L. Helm
Helen L. Helm, age 71, of Quincy, died on Monday, April 22, 2013 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on November 2, 1941 in Olney, IL the daughter of Charles & Velma (Linder) Shultz. She married John Helm on September 22, 1963 in Olney, IL . He survives. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years.
Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother whose greatest love was the time she spent with her family. Helen proudly collected angels. She enjoyed the embroidered calendars she made for family and friends. She liked her flowers and could always be counted on to send a card or note to family and friends no matter what the occasion.
In addition to her husband John, she is also survived by:
TWO CHILDREN: Laurie Groh of O’Fallon, MO and Dawn Reckers and her husband Steve of Quincy
THREE GRANDCHILDREN: Keegan Reckers, Payton Reckers, and Addison Reckers.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Scott Groh, one brother: Steve Shultz, and a sister: Margaret Glunt.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Quincy Memorial Park. There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor’s Choice. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
It was a shock to hear of Helen’s death. She was lovely lady, a good friend and co-hart in choir! She will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with the family.
