Helen Idabelle Welte

On Monday, April 7, 2014 Helen Idabelle Welte, age 83, of the Lincoln Douglas Apartments, Quincy, went home to be with the Lord. She was born on November 3, 1930 in Quincy, a daughter of Henry & Idabelle (Miller) Welte.

She was a lifelong resident of Quincy. She had worked almost 50 years for Premier Linen & Towel Service.

Helen was such a gentle soul. Never without a smile. She enjoyed the simple things in life like going to Walmart and HyVee with her sister, Mary.

Helen never married, she always said she had too many nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews to care for. She was a wonderful sister and aunt to all of her loved ones.

She is survived by three sisters, Idabelle Ow of Chicago, Mary Vedenhaupt and Barbara (Edward) Sohn, all of Quincy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Maude Welte, Dorothy Nick-Cunningham and Wanda Brown; and four brothers, Henry Jr., Floyd, Bert and Tommy Welte.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Akers Chapel Cemetery near Hull, IL. Visitation will be held on Saturday beginning at 12:00 noon until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made To The Family.

    Miss you aunt Helen the hardest worker I’ve ever known learn alot working in the factory with you and taking care of me when i was a toddler through my teenage years love you always cj

      Aunt Helen, so often think of your kindness and caring esp when Carol and I were living with you and Grandma and grandpa .I always cherish your example of doing the right thing ,even without your words to tell me. I love and miss you and dad so much .

    I used to work with Helen years ago at Midwest Premier laundry. She was a spunky sweet lady. Sorry for your loss.
