Hattie M. McDonald Bower, age 85, of the Sycamore Healthcare Centre, formerly of rural Barry, died on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on May 28, 1931 in Rockport, IL the daughter of James & Marie (Fuller) Wells. She married Eldon McDonald. She later married Claude Bower. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1992.

Hattie is survived by:
TWO SONS: Harold McDonald and his wife Sandy of Quincy and David McDonald of rural Barry.
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Elizabeth Haugh and her husband Jared of Quincy; Christopher McDonald and his wife Jeanne of Grand Forks, ND; Bridget Denton and her husband Brad of Liberty, IL and Tanya Showers of Knoxville, IA.
TEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Haley, Abby, and Seth Haugh; Colin, Amelia, Ian McDonald, Brady, Brayson, Briley Denton and Damien Showers.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Hattie was also preceded in death by a daughter Julie McDonald; brothers: Gerry Wells, Arch Wells, James ‘Ted’ Wells; Sisters: Emma Doran and Louise Phillips.

Private family arrangements will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the Charity of the Donor’s Choice. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements
