Harry Edward Joseph McIntosh, Jr.

Harry Edward Joseph McIntosh, Jr, age 88, of Quincy, died on Sunday, March 27, 2022 in Springfield, IL surrounded by his family. He was born on October 1, 1933 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Harry Edward Joseph and Alvira (Trine) McIntosh, Sr., He married Mildred P. (Horton) Stone on July 3, 1976. She survives. He worked at the Electric Wheel and then later in maintenance at Quincy’s Westview Golf Course. Jr. served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer during the Korean War.

Jr. devoted his life to his loving wife, Millie, his daughters and grandchildren. He was always a very hardworking man. He loved to spend time outside with his wife talking to neighbors and friends. Jr. will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
STEP-DAUGHTERS: Pamela Waterman (Daniel Stiles) of Decatur and Terri Allen (Robert) of Quincy.
GRANDCHILDREN: Justin Hatton, Gina Waterman, Jason Allen, Darron Allen (Alli), and Kristin Bradfield (Scott).
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Mackenzie and Bailey Allen; Claudia and Bennett Allen, and Oliver Bradfield.
Several Cousins and other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park with military rites conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of the services at 11:00. Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home Activities Fund or to the Alzheimer’s Association.

    Millie and family. So sorry to hear of Jr’s passing. He was great neighbor and I have many fond memories of Hickory Grove. God Bless you all Charlotte Logan Friedhoff and Kate Logan Vollbracht.
