Harriett M. Dege, age 71, of 211 Anderson Court, Quincy, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, in Sunset Home. She was born on September 19, 1943 in Fulton, MO, a daughter of Herald & Rose (Pierson) Wallace. She married Guenter K. Dege on April 7, 1962 in Quincy. He survives.

Harriett was a Quincy High School graduate. She devoted her life to being a homemaker for her family. She was a member of the Grand Cross of Color in the Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She played the piano and enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. Harriett loved cooking and going camping.

In addition to her husband, Guenter, she is survived by two daughters, Angela Dege-Diller and her husband Ivan and Anya Dege-Smith and her husband John, all of Quincy; a granddaughter Olivia Smith of Quincy; and a sister Glenda (Butch) Paschel of Auxvasse, MO. Many other relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Andrew Georg Milton Irvin.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday beginning at 12:00 noon until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society.
