Harold G. “Butch” Venvertloh

Harold G. “Butch” Venvertloh, age 73, of the North Adams Home, formerly of Quincy, died on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 3:35 AM in the Home. He was born on September 7, 1938 in Quincy the son of George and Bernadine (Holtschlag) Venvertloh. Butch was a lifelong farmer.

He was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame. Butch was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and an usher. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau and liked anything John Deere. He also enjoyed gardening and playing cards. Butch was a true gentleman and was well loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by:
NINE SIBLINGS: Mildred “Mick” Ehrhardt of Liberty, Il; Mary Agnes “Mae” Rupert of Pittsfield, IL; Paul “Bill” Venvertloh and his wife Shirley of Quincy; Grace Link and her husband Paul of Appleton, WI; George H. “Junie” Venvertloh and his wife Emilie of Quincy; Rosalie “Rosie” Baker and her husband John of Quincy; LeRoy Venvertloh and his wife Mary of Quincy; Joseph “Joe” Venvertloh and his wife Karen of Quincy; and Marcia Barry and her husband Dennis of Liberty.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends also survive.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters in infancy; a brother Robert “Bob” Venvertloh, a sister Esther Dietrich along with her husband Gilbert, and additional brothers-in-law Joe Ehrhardt and Wally Rupert.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 9:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 9:30 in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus TV Mass for Shut Ins, St. Francis Catholic Church or to Blessed Sacrament Catholic School.
