Glenn C. “Pistol” Baker, Jr.

Glenn C. “Pistol” Baker, Jr., age 59, of 1728 Spruce Street, Quincy, IL died on November 4, 2016 at 11:47 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. He was born on January 20, 1957 in Quincy the son of Glenn C. and Julia (Cronin) Baker, Sr. Pistol attended Quincy High School. He married Paula McClean on October 19, 1974 in Hannibal, MO. She survives. Pistol was a machinist and local contractor for more than 40 years.
Pistol was a member of Madison Park Christian Church. He was a member of the South Side Boat Club, the Hunter’s and Fisherman’s Association, Ducks Unlimited and the Quincy Gun Club.
Pistol loved his work, family, and friends. He also greatly enjoyed trap shooting, fishing, hunting and spending time with his three grandsons. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Blessing Hospital staff, The Dialysis nurses and staff at Blessing Hospital and Quincy Medical Group, Dr. Dan Evans, & Dr. Dennis Ozment. With your guidance and support, you made these last five years possible. True angels on earth.
In addition to his wife, Paula, he is also survived by:
HIS MOTHER: Julia Baker of Quincy;
HIS CHILDREN: Donnelle K. Hankins and her husband Brandon and Glenn C. “PJ” Baker III and his wife Jessica all of Quincy.
GRANDCHILDREN: Caden Widmer, Brody and Brayden Baker.
BROTHERS: Tom McKenna, Sr. and his wife Sandy and Tim Baker all of Quincy
SISTER: Nancy Bernhardt and her husband Michael of Quincy
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Pistol was preceded in death by his father, grandmother Florence Scarry, an uncle, Charlie Collins, a brother Kenneth McKenna and a sister Tina Baker.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Madison Park Christian Church. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh. Memorials may be made to Blessing Hospital for use in Intermediate Care.
