Gladys L. Hamann

Gladys L. Hamann, age 93, of 311 Cherry, died on Monday, January 23, 2012 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on October 17, 1918 in Peoria, IL the daughter of Earl & Stella (Myer) Stanger. She married John F. Hamann. He preceded her in death in 1988. Gladys was a member of the Church of Christ in Quincy.

She is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Phyllis Martin of Pleasant Hill, IL; Connie Miller and her husband Eric Miller, Sr., of Quincy; and Robert A. Hamann also of Quincy
ONE BROTHER: Eugene Stanger and his wife Eileen.
Numerous Grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by a husband, a son John Hamann and numerous brothers and sisters.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No formal services are planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society or to Paw Pals. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Hello my name is Eugene Brian Stanger, Grandson of Melvin Howard Gladys’s brother, and namesake of Eugene Stanger Gladys’s other brother. I am very sorry for your loss, and apologize for not knowing of Gladys until very recently. I would have very much like to have met Gladys and get to know her and her family.     My son Darrick & I will miss such a kind,warm hearted, (she doesn’t know a stranger), pleasant lady with sense of humor, my upmost condolence to your mother, Phyllis, Connie and Bob.
