Geraldine Estelle Bryson
Geraldine Estelle Bryson age 92, of 2130 Harrison, formerly of 207 North 28th St. Quincy, died on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 8:49 a.m. in the home. Geraldine was born March 10, 1917 in Redford, Mo a daughter of Oscar M. and Ada L. (Maples) Welsh. She married Floyd A. Bryson on June 3, 1941 in Madiosn Park Christian Church and he preceded her in death in 1979.
Geraldine worked as a bookeeper, and had worked at Cook Paint Store, Kirlin’s and in later years, at Palmer Fabrics.
She was a member of Madison Park Christian Church. Geraldine was a member of American Business Women’s Association and served as president in the mid 1960’s. She loved life, traveled extensively and was always willing to help someone and never met a stranger. Geraldine always had flower beds, she quilted and did crossword puzzles. She loved doing things with her grandchildren and baking cookies.
Survivors include her children, Howard Bryson and his wife Connie and Diana Minnick and husband Richard of Liberty, IL; six grandchildren: Merry Lung and husband Mike; Holly Miller and husband John, Brett Bryson and wife Susie, Brenda Conley and husband Chris, Beverly Sohn; Rebecca Rubison and husband Dave; 12 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Raymond, James, George, Clifton “Pert”, Windle and David Welsh; sisters, Mary Unthank and Margaret “Margie” Bickhaus. A grandson, Bradley Minnick and a great-grandaughter, Lauren Rubison.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the the
Duker & Haugh Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Keith Ehresman. Interment will be in Burton Cemetery. Visitation is Monday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Madison Park Christian Church.

Sorry I didn’t make it to the service but I have fond memories of your mother. I will always remember the good times when I was in her home in Maywood and also the fun times we had in ABWA.
