Georgian Belker

Georgian Belker, age 91, of the St. Vincent Home, died on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in the Home. She was born on April 19, 1926 in Quincy, IL the daughter of George & Clara (Engels) Entrup. She married Clarence A. “Bud” Belker on November 5, 1949 in St. John Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2000. Mrs. Belker worked for Gardner Denver for 37 years.

Georgian wasn’t blessed with children of her own, but considered all of her nieces and nephews as her children. She loved her family, their gatherings, eating out with them, shopping, and Monday night pizza at The Tower. She also loved her ‘granddogs’. Georgian enjoyed traveling, boating, and trout fishing. She liked to go to her trailer at Bennett Springs State Park in Missouri and the family cabin on the East Chute of the Mississippi River. She spent time playing cards with her girlfriends. Georgian was a 60 year season ticket holder for the Quincy Blue Devil Basketball. She was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal baseball and Blue Devil Basketball fan. Georgian was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Ladies of St. Francis and a Past member of the Quincy Boat Club.

Mark (Peg) Entrup, Matt (Kathy) Entrup, Mike (DeDe) Entrup, Tim (Julie) Entrup, Beth Entrup, Phyliss (Don) Talbott, Sandra (John) Sanders, Connie (Joe) Swearengen, Larry (Sue) Binkley, Michael J. Bower, William Bower & Jeffrey Bower.
A SISTER-IN-LAW: Dorothy Reinebach.
Numerous great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews and other relatives survive.
In addition to her husband and parents, Georgian was also preceded in death by: a brother Bernie Entrup along with his first wife Marjean and his second wife Norma, Sisters-in-law: Mildred Binkley along with her husband Frank; Donna Bower along with her husband Jack, and brothers-in-law: Ronald Belker and Jack Reinebach.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ladies of St. Francis, the Quincy Humane Society or to the Quanada Pet-Friendly Shelter Program.
