Georgene I. “Jean” Lohman

Georgene I. “Jean” Lohman age 79, of Quincy died on Saturday, April 16, 2022 in Blessing Hospital. Jean was born in Quincy on March 29, 1943, a daughter of Norbert and Bernice (Hildebrand) Peter. She married Gary Harden on June 18, 1966 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, and together they had three daughters. He preceded her in death August 18, 1981. She married William A. “Bill” Lohman on November 25, 1988 in St. Mary Catholic Church, and Bill preceded her in death September 15, 2020.

Jean was a homemaker, and she had worked for the Quincy Public Schools.
She was a 1961 graduate of Liberty High School.

She was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, where she helped with funeral luncheon and various church events. Jean was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs and K.U. Jayhawks. She was a very good cook and flower gardener, and an avid cardplayer who also liked to gamble.
Her grandsons were her pride and joy.

Survivors include:
Three daughters, Jill (Mark) Alemi of Louisville, KY, Joy (Dawn Wheeler) Harden of St. Louis, MO and Kim Harden of Quincy; three stepdaughters, Sharon (Louie) Frame of Quincy, Linda (Terry) Amburn of Quincy, Amy (Grant) Weidner of Waterloo, IA.

Two Grandsons: Austin Alemi of Scottsdale, AZ and Jack Alemi of Louisville, KY; nine step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Four sisters and one brother, Marge Kinne, Shirley (Bill) Alexander, Joyce (Bob) Kroencke, Donna (Dave) Dieker and Randy (Debbie) Peter, all of Quincy. A brother-in-law, Dwight Harden of Camp Point, IL, nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

A special thank-you to Jean’s beloved best friends, Louise (Marty) Schwindeler and David Allen for their ongoing support and friendship.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, in Blessed Sacrament Church by Rev. Tom Meyer. Interment will be at Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to Mass from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to Blessed Sacrament Parish or Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
