Georgeanne Marie LaRoche
Georgeanne Marie LaRoche, age 70, of Quincy, died on May 24, 2024 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on March 19, 1954 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Paul and Phyllis (Link) LaRoche.
Georgeanne worked in the dietary office of Blessing Hospital and had worked for the hospital for 54 years. She loved spending her time with family and friends and dearly loved her nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
She is survived by:
HER MOTHER: Phyllis LaRoche of Quincy
SIBLINGS: Mary Lou McGinnis and her husband Kent, Jeanne Staley and her husband Roger, Robert LaRoche and his wife Linda and Michael LaRoche and his wife Kristy.
NIECES AND NEPHEW: Michelle Quintos and her husband Rob, Jennifer Hughes and her husband Logan, Angela Frageman and her husband Lucas; Sarah Straza and her husband Brian Rott, Elizabeth Staley and her husband Daniel Harmon, Rachel Ludwig and her husband Adam; Robert LaRoche, Jr; and Madison LaRoche.
GREAT-NIECES AND GREAT-NEPHEWS: Lucas, Jacob, Emma, Avery, Addy, Asher, Ellie, Emery, Rowan, Rhianna, Riley, Noah, Elijah, Eve, Aden, and Reese.
Several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives also survive.
Georgeanne was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents Louis and Lillian LaRoche and Phil and Edna Link.
The family would like to thank the staff of the 6th floor Skilled Care Nursing Unit at Blessing Hospital for their compassion for and excellent care of Georgeanne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM in St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the mass at 11:00. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church, Blessing Foundation for Hospice or to the Quincy Humane Society. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Phyllis and family, I am so sorry to hear about Georgannes passing. She was a very great and dear friend to me for years! I will miss her terribly! You all will be in my thoughts and prayers! Rest in peace Georgie!! Fly high my friend! I love you Laroche!!

Georgie Story. Georgie takes Phyllis to the Amtrak Station for a trip to Chicago. Georgie gets on the train to make sure Phyllis is situated. The train takes off with Georgie on board, her car is running with the dog inside. Good old Bob has to go to Macomb to retrieve Georgie. Georgie will be missed. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

You have my deepest sympathy. I worked at Blessing for many years and often saw Georgeanne in the cafeteria. She was a pleasure to be around!!. A real sweet person

Mom and I were so shocked and saddened to learn of Georgie’s passing. She was such a sweet person, always so pleasant and friendly with a smile on her face (just like her Momma)!
