George Schmidt, age 84, of the Illinois Veterans Home, Quincy, formerly of Girard, Illinois, died on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in the Home. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will take place at a later date in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Joliet. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.
