George R. Middendorf

George R. Middendorf, age 50, of 2521 Elm, died on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 3:38 PM in the Emergency Room of Blessing Hospital. He was born on February 3, 1962 in Quincy, the son of Walter and Bonita (Hildebrand) Middendorf. George was a mechanic for Klinner’s Garage. George loved to play the drums. He played in high school for the Quincy Notre Dame Band. Later he was in the band, “The Original Mud Cats”. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Fan and a fan of the Quincy Gems. George was an extremely witty person who is greatly loved and will be greatly missed by his family.

He is survived by:
THREE SISTERS: Barb Peters and her husband Larry, Annette Niekamp and her husband Daniel, and Patti Viehmeyer and her husband Marty all of Quincy.
SEVEN NIECES AND NEPHEWS: Natalie Peters and her fiance Lucas Powell, Sarah Roberts and her husband Chad; Marisa Zirlin and her husband Brian; Adam Niekamp and his wife Niki; Ryan Viehmeyer and his wife Julie; and Katie Merkel and her husband Jimmy; and Nick Viehmeyer.
HIS FIANCE: Shari Sparrow of Quincy
TWO GODCHILDREN: Marisa Zirlin & Paisley Niekamp
Numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins & other family also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. There is no visitation but family and friends are invited to the services. Memorials may be made for the intentions of the family. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
